    Inward Investment Focus on Buckinghamshire

Our voice of Buckinghamshire Business this week is:
Paul Briggs, the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce Group Chief Executive.

According to UK Trade & Investment, the UK remains the favoured location for first time ventures into the European market, but a challenging economy and growing competition from Government sponsored initiatives such as Tech City mean that Chambers of Commerce have a key role to play in supporting the aspirations of local business communities.

Richard Harrington, Buckinghamshire Thames Valley LEP CEO

Welcome to a fast changing landscape in the area of economic development. Post Budget 2013 the Government has embraced the advice of Lord Heseltine, in his report ‘No Stone Unturned’, and financially backed the Local Enterprise Partnership movement. This has immediately resulted in more local capacity to develop and deliver a programme of growth in Buckinghamshire. I am due to start as Chief Executive of BTVLEP on the 1st June and can report that we have already appointed an outstanding team, that I will introduce to you very shortly, to build on current momentum and to create and drive forward a new programme of delivery. The next eighteen months will see the pace quicken further.
