    • Submitted to government BTVLEP’s Local Growth Fund round three bid for £112m to further grow Buckinghamshire’s economy.
    • In collaboration with our Local Authority partners, we have commenced the roll-out of the second phase of superfast broadband to provide coverage to over 95% of homes and businesses in Bucks.

    • BTVLEP facilitated consultation and drop-in sessions for our refreshed Strategic Economic Plan
    • Signing of the Aylesbury Vale Enterprise Zone agreement (MoU), with Buckinghamshire County Council and Aylesbury Vale District Council, to progress work across the three Enterprise Zone sites. 
    • BTVLEP attended our Business Hub’s (Buckinghamshire Business First) Business Leaders Dinner, which attracted over 50 key business people from across the county.


    • Business case approval granted for the Westcott Incubation Centre as part of a new national Satellite Applications Catapult. 
    • Our Bucks Business First Growth Hub were highly commended as part of the 2016 Enterprising Britain Awards. Our Chairman spoke at the first ever Festival of Higher Education at the award winning University of Buckingham. 
    • Our funding helped support the relaunch of the www.visitbuckinghamshire.org website. 
    • We supported the submission to government of a new Garden Town proposal for Aylesbury.
    • Public consultation has commenced on the BTVLEP Local Growth Funded sustainable transport improvements at Taplow South Buckinghamshire.
  • 2016 | July

    • The announcement from the UK Space Agency to invest over £4m in a National Propulsion Test Facility at Westcott, near Aylesbury, will put Bucks on the global map as a centre of excellence in space technology testing. 

    • The successful Juno mission featured rockets built by Moog-ISP based at Westcott, one of the sites that form our Aylesbury Vale Enterprise Zone.

    • Hundreds of young people came away from BTVLEP’s first Bucks Skills Show full of inspiration and enthusiasm for the careers options presented to them at this lively and interactive event.

    • BTVLEP organised and promoted - with the Motorsport Industry Association and our LEP and local authority partners - a five-day inward investment and export trade mission and conference at Silverstone to showcase and explore the latest innovations from the UK’s world-leading Motorsport and High Performance Engineering community. Launched a dedicated website for the Aylesbury Vale Enterprise Zone (www.aylesburyvaleez.co.uk).
    • Commenced work, with Buckinghamshire County Council, on the A413 ‘green travel’ link cycleway and footpath linking Winslow with Buckingham.
    • Ribbon cut on new 'gateway to the east' road – Stocklake (urban) link road – marking BTVLEP’s first Local Growth Funds project to reach completion.

    • Submitted to government BTVLEP’s Local Growth Fund round three submission - see our latest video highlighting why Bucks is a great place to do business.
    • BTVLEP continuing to lobby for airport expansion at Heathrow, following recent government delays in the decision on airport expansion in the South East.

    • BTVLEP promoted the call for applications of interest for £6.8m of funding to invest in Design and Tech led Skills and Incubation projects.
    • A delegation from The World Bank attended BTVLEP’s offices to find out more about how Local Enterprise Partnerships are having an economic impact across the regions.

       
    • We submitted a bid to Highways England’s Growth & Housing Fund, to support major improvements to Marlow’s Westhorpe Interchange and access to the Globe Business Park.

    • Already renowned as the Birthplace of the Paralympic Movement at Stoke Mandeville, Buckinghamshire’s Pinewood Studios have been chosen to host the world’s first eGames.
    • MP John Bercow witnessed first-hand the momentum of the roll-out of super-fast broadband across Bucks when he visited the most recent fibre broadband street cabinet to ‘go live’ in Grendon Underwood.
    • BTVLEP supported the ‘Buckinghamshire Broadband – The Final 5%’ event organised by our Growth Hub, Buckinghamshire Business First and attended by Rt Hon Cheryl Gillan MP, which highlighted our broadband achievements and plans for the next 5% coverage.

       
    • We approved the business cases for major new Growth Fund road schemes in High Wycombe Town Centre and Beaconsfield and saw the completion of works on the Stocklake Link Road in Aylesbury.
    • Provided financial support for the co-ordination and development of the tourism industry in Buckinghamshire Visit Buckinghamshire.

       
  • 2016 | April

    • BTVLEP facilitated a visit by David Lidington MP to witness work on the £5.3 million Stocklake Link Road highway improvement scheme and our Local Growth Hub, Buckinghamshire Business First’s successful new business hub in Aylesbury (thanks to Buckinghamshire County Council for facilitating the venue).

    • Following an extensive programme of work and community and stakeholder engagement, BTVLEP submitted its outline planning application for Aylesbury Woodlands.
    • We promoted the call for applications of interest for hosting our world leading 5G Innovation Centre ‘Step Out’ facility. 
    • Our Skills Hub supported a project to raise the profile of apprenticeships by working with local company Silverson on an engineering challenge to bring together education and business.

    • BTVLEP supported the next stage of the study into a high-tech cluster around Silverstone Park.

  • 2016 | January

    • Three well received and supported Aylesbury Woodlands stakeholder engagement events took place at Aston Clinton, Weston Turville and Bierton, as part of the second phase of public engagement for the project.

    • Our Growth Hub, Buckinghamshire Business First, launched their new Business Hub, located in the centre of Aylesbury, which hosts an impressive range of facilities to support local businesses.

    • One of BTVLEP’s first major projects to benefit from Local Growth Fund money, the £5.3m Stocklake Link Road highway improvement scheme, has commenced this month to enhance transport infrastructure around Aylesbury.
    • BTVLEP prides itself in nurturing and supporting the creative industries sector and are at the forefront of FE provision, no surprise that Bucks is the home to the ‘Sound of 2016’ winner.
    • This month saw the 187th green roadside cabinet go live at the village of Stoke Hammond, making fibre broadband connections available to order for an additional 43,034 Buckinghamshire residents and businesses.
    • BTVLEP’s development arm, Buckinghamshire Advantage, launched its new website to provide latest information on key development projects across Buckinghamshire.
    • We supported the submission by the Heart of England Strategic Alliance to establish a new statutory sub-national Transport Body for our area.
